Background:
Ms Lim Li Lee is the founder of LILEE CHAMBERS. She graduated with LL.B (Second Class Upper Hons) from the University of Northumbria, United Kingdom in 2009. In 2010, she completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2011.
Professional Experience:
Ms Lim Li Lee began her career by chambering in Messrs Tan Chap & Associates in Kuala Lumpur. After completing her pupilage, she was retained by her Master Mr Tan Chap and practiced as a legal associate. She then moved to Johor Bahru where she joined Messrs Manjit Singh Sacdev, Mohammad Radzi & Partners as a legal associate in December 2014. In January 2016, she was promoted to practice as a Partner in Manjit Singh until the year of 2019. She then practiced as a partner in Messrs Benjamin Tan & Co. before founding Lilee Chambers in 2022.
Ms Lim Li Lee has extensive experience in handling various legal matters including Real Estate transaction, Project Development transaction, Banking and Finance, Corporate and Commercial, and other comprehensive conveyancing matters. Throughout her practice experience, she has been involved in various major property development projects and dealt with numerous major Developers such as Mahsing Group, LBS Group, Tropicana Group, and Crescendo Group, among others. She has also dealt with various property agencies such as The Roof Realty Group, Medini Properties Group, The Royce Property Group, etc., pertaining to the sub-sale estate matter.
Ms Lim Li Lee's experience in real estate matters has also sharpened her knowledge and skills in advising clients on the Rules and Regulations relevant to Foreigner Sales and Purchases Transactions, especially the transactions in the state of Johor. Her expertise not only extends to drafting and vetting agreements, including joint venture agreements, sale and purchase agreements, sub-sales transactions, developers' transactions, tenancies and leases, and other land-related agreements, but also affords her the opportunity to be involved in drafting shareholders’ agreement, franchise agreement, partnership agreement, lease agreement, and other agreements.
In addition to her expertise in real estate matters, Ms Lim Li Lee has significant knowledge in banking and financing matters. She advises banks and borrowers on loan and security documentations, retail loans and commercial loans, conventional and Islamic banking documentations. She also advises and represents clients on litigation matters for family, joint petition for divorce matters, estate planning, preparation of wills, and other probate-related estate matters.
